"After two years as a PALMS site, there's definitely more of an interest in postsecondary education from our entire student body, and our staff is more aware of the importance of providing support."

Funders

2004-2010: The PALMS project was launched with a grant from Lumina Foundation for Education, a private, independent foundation, that strives to help people achieve their potential by expanding access and success in education beyond high school. With Lumina funding, PALMS staff created the original content for this Website and developed Tools for Latino Family Outreach.

2007-2009: Lumina Foundation and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation were joint funders in a pilot implementation of Tools for Latino Family Outreach, through which two schools used the tools to develop their own outreach programs. Funds from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation were used to carry out the study in partnership with Helen Tyson Middle School in Springdale, Arkansas. The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation is a private, nonprofit foundation whose mission is to improve the lives of Arkansans by funding programs and projects that improve education; economic development; and economic, racial and social justice.
