What Research Says
The activities of the PALMS Parent Outreach Study were guided by a large
body of literature concerning the role that Latino parents can play in their
children’s education. We focused, whenever possible, specifically on
the actions that Latino parents can take to increase their children’s
chances of continuing their education beyond high school. The research cited
in this section informed our work during key phases, and it bears important
implications for the practice of secondary school leaders and college access
professionals.
