PALMS Outreach Leaders Network
The PALMS Outreach Leaders Network is a community of practitioners dedicated to helping Latino students pursue higher education. With support from PALMS staff, members commit to building a college-focused parental outreach program with the PALMS Tools for Latino Family Outreach.
Network services and activities provide members with collegial and technical support as they move through the different phases of developing their schools' programs. Our pilot cohort in 2007-2008 included middle schools in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, and Nevada.
The second cohort of Outreach Leaders in 2008-2009 includes:
- Dodge City Middle School (Dodge City, KS)
- Earl F. Calcutt Middle School (Central Falls, RI)
- Har-Ber High School (Springdale, AR)
- Isaac E. Young Middle School (New Rochelle, NY)
- Joseph Jenks Junior High School (Pawtucket, RI)
- Lowell High School (Lowell, MA)
- Mamaroneck High School (Mamaroneck, NY)
- New Rochelle High School (New Rochelle, NY)
Outreach Leaders pay a fee for services and products, which include a six-week online course, a one-day training workshop, coaching calls throughout the year, a Starter Kit of Materials, and a subscription to an Online Resource Center.
